As of 25 May 2018, the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) entered into force.
The Brno City Municipality herewith informs the data subjects on their right to request the following under conditions set out in Articles 15 through 20 of the GDPR:
- access to the personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality,
- rectification of the personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality,
- erasure of the personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality,
- restriction of processing of the personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality,
- and right to portability of the personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality.
The data subjects have the right to object to processing of their personal data processed by the Brno City Municipality under conditions set out in the Article 21 of the GDPR.
The data subject/complainant is authorized to exercise the above mentioned rights to the Brno City Municipality in the following ways:
- in a written paper form (with a verified signature of the applicant),
- in an electronic form (e-mail message with a qualified or advanced electronic signature of the applicant sent to the filing office of the Brno City Municipality),
- via the applicant’s data box,
- the applicant identifies himself/herself in person by presenting his/her identity card or travel passport, which in fact needs to be made relevant evidence of in the application by an authorized person of the Brno City Municipality’s unit in question.
The above mentioned rights are dealt with by the Data Protection Unit of the Organizational Department.
Data subjects have the following rights and possibilities:
- the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection under conditions set out in Article 77 of the GDPR if they consider that the GDPR regulation is infringed by the processing of their personal data,
- the right to an effective judicial remedy under conditions set out in Article 79 of the GDPR if they consider that their rights under this Regulation have been infringed as a result of the processing of their personal data in non-compliance with this Regulation,
- possibility to consult the issue of personal data processing by the Brno City Municipality with the GDPR officer Mr Radek Skoumal, e-mail: poverenec@brno.cz. In-person consultations are possible after a previous appointment only.
Possible questions are handled by the Data Protection Unit of the Organizational Department at the e-mail address GDPR@brno.cz.
The Brno City Municipality does not transfer personal data to third countries (with the exception of arranging business trips to these countries) or to international organizations. No automated decision-making and profiling in the sense of Article 4 (4) of the GDPR is made within the Brno City Municipality.
