EMERGENCY SERVICES

For the Brno-město district and partly for the Brno-venkov district, emergency medical services will be provided by the Trauma Hospital in Brno in the scope of emergency medical services for adults and dental services.

The Trauma Hospital in Brno will also provide examinations of the bodies of the deceased outside the medical facility during and outside the hours of operation of the emergency services.

Examination of bodies of deceased outside Brno medical facilities

If the death occurs in the deceased person's residence, the examination is done by the relevant GP, or his/her representative if absent.  
Outside the GP’s office hours or if he/she is out of reach, the examination is done by a coroner.
If the death occurs at home, but the deceased person has a different permanent residence (e.g. during a visit), the examination is done by a coroner.
If the death occurs in a public space, the police must be informed. The examination will be done by a coroner. 
If the death is suspected not to be an accident (suicide, foul play), the police must be informed. The examination will be done by a relevant GP or coroner.
